hitch was founded in
1978 by Robert Hitch, a professional engineer and
land surveyor with a background in construction and civil
engineering. The firm quickly grew to provide planning,
architecture and engineering design services to a diverse
client base throughout the Upper Midwest.
With a background in construction and design, hitch has acquired a reputation for developing efficient,
cost effective designs that meet or exceed the
expectations of their clients. By providing a full range
of architectural and engineering services, all design
disciplines are addressed from concept through completion.
hitch believes that successful projects are based
on a team approach where the Owner, Design Professionals
and Contractors work together for the successful
completion of the project. hitch acts as a project
coordinator to ensure that all parties work together and
understand their responsibilities. Often this team
includes financial consultants, legal advisors, and
specialty design consultants as needed to fulfill project
requirements.
Robert D. Hitch, PE, PS
Prior to founding hitch in 1978, Robert was Vice
President and Chief Engineer for a major general
contractor in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. He
developed time saving and cost saving solutions in
construction engineering, solving many of the logistical
challenges encountered in engineering projects.
Under his leadership, hitch has gained a
reputation for thoughtful, innovative design driven by the
needs of our clients.
