Project Description:
In 2000, Tahquamenon Area Schools approved a bond issue
for maintenance and renovation of an elementary and a
central K-12 complex.
Working with the available
funding, hitch helped the school district identify
and prioritize a list of items necessary for the health
and well being of the students and staff. Items included;
lighting and electrical upgrades, updated existing toilet
rooms to current Barrier Free requirements, kitchen
upgrades, window replacement and exterior canopy
construction.
A special needs living
skills room was also incorporated. This learning center
was designed to house students with emotional, physical
and mental disabilities.
All work was accomplished
during the summer recess. The project was bid and
implemented approximately 9% below budget.
The project completed in
September of 2000, represents a continuing client
relationship for the last 75 years.
